A network of CCTV cameras equipped with night vision capabilities will soon be installed around Dublin and Wicklow mountains, as illegal dumping sites keep filling up with rubbish.
The problem of illegal dumping has become worse in recent times, with up to 3,000 tons of rubbish been removed by regional and local councils.
It is hoped that the CCTV equipment will help catch and identify the culprits.
