Russia moves to ban George Soros’ run charities from the country as they pose “security threat”

The Russian Government have banned charities owned by multi-billionaire financier and currency speculator George Soros from operating in the country.

This Monday Russia’s General Prosecutor’s Office said the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and the Open Society Institute (OSI) would be placed on a “stop list” of foreign non-governmental organisations.

This action was taken as it was determined that they are engaged in “undesirable” activities in Russia.

Many have linked these organisations to so-called “colour revolutions” and accuse them of pushing an open boarders and “progressive” agenda. Hungary has also taken similar steps with its “Stop Soros Law” which banned Soros’ funder NGO’s from operating in the country as they allegedly pushed for open boarders and advocated the population replacement agenda.

In a statement Russia’s General Prosecutor’s Office said

“It was found that the activity of the Open Society Foundations and the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation represents a threat to the foundations of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and the security of the state”.
