
A top Moscow official stated that they were prepared to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports Breaking News.
During a conference call, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov informed reporters that Russia has no restrictions on the prospect of in-person negotiations.
On Thursday, Mr. Trump stated that a meeting is being arranged because “Putin wants to meet,” reports Breaking News.
He said the proposals for talks were part of an effort to settle the almost three-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Regarding his potential meeting with Mr. Putin, Mr. Trump stated, “We have to get that war over with,” reports Breaking News.

Ukraine’s largest contributor, the United States, may cut back on or cease help, which worries Ukrainian authorities, reports Breaking News.
To put Ukraine in the best possible position for any future discussions to end the war, the departing Biden administration is giving Ukraine as much military backing as it can, including authorising a fresh arms package for $500 million (£409 million).
“We are aware that the (Biden) administration will try to leave as difficult a legacy in bilateral relations as possible for Trump and his team,” Mr Peskov said, reports Breaking News.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has stated that his nation needs guarantees for its future defence against Russia, its larger neighbour, which has twice invaded Ukraine since the year 2000.
He stated late Thursday that Europe cannot ensure that on its own.
“European security guarantees are not sufficient for Ukraine that fights such an enemy as Russia. We need joint security guarantees from the US and Europe,” Mr Zelensky said, reports Breaking News.
After top officials from more than 50 nations that have been aiding Kyiv’s war effort met in Germany on Thursday, Mr. Zelensky said that Ukraine will receive two billion dollars (£1.6 billion) in military aid packages.
According to Mr. Zelensky, Ukraine has so far inked agreements with 34 nations in the areas of naval cooperation, digital security, demining, and air and missile defence, reports Breaking News.
