After a shooting at a school in the central Russian city of Izhevsk, the death toll has risen to 13 people, including seven children, investigators said.
The attack was the latest in a string of school shootings that have rocked Russia in recent years and made the country nervous about efforts to mobilize tens of thousands of troops to fight in Ukraine.
“Thirteen people, including six adults and seven minors, died as a result of this crime,” Russia’s investigative commission said in a statement, adding that 14 children and seven adults were injured.
Authorities previously announced a death toll of nine but did not say if the alleged gunman was among them.
Investigators said two security guards and two teachers were among the victims, adding that the attacker took his own life.
