Last week, a fight over seat switching became violent, forcing a Ryanair aircraft to London to be rerouted to Marrakech, reports The Mirror.
Last Wednesday, July 3, little over half an hour into its journey from the Moroccan city of Agadir to London Stansted, Flight RUK3034 broke out in a violent brawl over seating arrangements.
Tensions are said to have been building since before takeoff after a man in his late 20s allegedly asked to trade seats with a woman in order to be near his wife and small children, reports The Mirror.
The mother, who was seated next to her own daughter, is said to have been intimidated by the male, who then refused to move.
The fight occurred when the woman’s husband began defending his wife after the plane took off.
As cabin staff tries to step in, people can be seen shoving, yelling, and punching each other in the aisle in video footage that has been circulated online, reports The Mirror.
“It was like the flight from hell. And it all escalated from that one passenger wanting to change seats. They were trying to punch each other. One of the families was part of a larger group so other passengers started to join in,” a fellow passenger told The Sun, reports The Mirror.
