Ryanair says that ‘up to 3,000 jobs’ might be lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has laid waste to the travel industry, affecting airlines the world over, and Ryanair is no exception.

The budget airline has said that ‘up to 3,000 jobs’ might be lost, according to the Irish Mirror, in the wake of the pandemic.

Most of Ryanair’s fleet remains grounded, and there’s great uncertainty as to when the skies will open again.

Additionally, remaining staff faces being forced to take unpaid leave or wage cuts of up to 20%.

And unlike Irish politicians, Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary is leading with example, as he has agreed to a 50% pay cut until March 2021.
