Ryanair warns that it will shut its Cork and Shannon bases if the Government fails to adhere to new ‘traffic light system’ suggested by the EU

Budget airline Ryanair has warned that it will shut its Cork and Shannon bases if the Government fails to adhere to the new ‘traffic light system’ suggested by the European Union (EU).

The EU’s new travel regulations stipulate that there should be unrestricted air travel between European countries labeled ‘Green’ or ‘Amber’.

Ryanair has warned Transport Minister Eamon Ryan that the Cork and Shannon bases will be shut for the winter if the regulations are not fully adopted by October 13.
