Ryanair has applauded the Malta court’s decision to punish a traveller who obstructed a March 22 flight from Cologne to Malta by smoking on board and disobeying crew orders, reports Breaking News.
The traveler was fined €2,000 after entering a guilty plea in court.
According to Ryanair, they pledged to make sure that all passengers and staff members fly in a courteous and safe atmosphere free from needless disruptions brought on by a small percentage of rowdy customers, reports Breaking News.
For the sake of the great majority of passengers who do not interfere with flights, they maintain a tough zero tolerance policy for passenger misconduct and will keep taking steps to prevent disruptive passenger behaviour on planes.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: “It is unacceptable that passengers, many of whom are travelling with young families, are forced to suffer unnecessary disruption because of one unruly passenger’s behaviour. Ryanair supports the Malta court decision to issue a €2,000 fine to an unruly passenger who disrupted flight FR5205 from Cologne to Malta on Saturday, March 22nd,” reports Breaking News.
“This underscores our commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for both crew and passengers on all Ryanair flights. Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct, and we will continue to take action, including travel bans, supporting investigations by local law enforcement authorities, and pursuing civil damages to combat passenger misconduct onboard our flights,” reports Breaking News.
