Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary calls Eamon Ryan ‘useless’ over Dublin Airport row

Following opposition from Green Party TDs and MEPs to plans planned to increase the passenger cap at Dublin Airport, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary has called for Eamon Ryan to step down.

In a scathing statement, Mr. O’Leary called the Transport Minister “useless” and said he was “asleep,” threatening to force airlines to find other routes if the “idiotic” cap is not removed, reports The Mirror.

Dublin Airport has submitted a planning application to raise the maximum on annual passenger volume from 32 million to 40 million. As a result, more travelers may pass through the airport.

At least 380 complaints regarding the idea are said to have been sent to Fingal County Council, with objections raised by MEP Ciaran Cuffe, Limerick TD Brian Leddin, and Junior Minister Joe O’Brien of the Green Party, reports The Mirror.
