It has been sadly revealed this morning that singer David Bowie has died at the aged of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer.
The news of Bowie’s tragic and sudden death was confirmed when a statement was posted on his official Facebook page earlier this morning which read: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. “While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
Meanwhile Bowie’s son Duncan Jones took to Twitter a short time later writing: “Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all.” Bowie became a world renowned superstar back in the 1970s and 80s when he released a number of chart topping his such as Rebel Rebel, Life on Mars and Starman.
