David Bowie has died after an 18-month long battle with cancer, it has been confirmed.
It is understood he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. The news come just days after the release of his 25th studio album, Blackstar, which went on sale last Friday (Bowie’s 69th birthday).
David Bowie’s successful career spanned over 40 years. Tributes have been pouring in for the legendary singer, who made his last live performance back in 2006. He had been seen little in public in recent years, following rumours of poor health.
Bowie is survived by his wife of 24 years, the supermodel Iman. He has two children, Alexandria Zahra Jones (15), and Duncan Jones (44).
