Tributes were being paid today to The Pogues basist Darryl Hunt who has passed away, aged 72.
According to Sky News, the group tweeted their grief, saying that they were “saddened beyond words” at Hunt’s death. Shane MacGowan added his own tribute, tweeting that Hunt was a “great friend and a great bass player” and wishing him a “happy state of eternal bliss”.
Hunt, who died in London, made a huge contribution to records released by the bank, including the album “If I should fall from grace with God”, the album that included the hit song “Fairytale of New York”.
