A Frenchman, Jean-Jacques Savin died while he was trying to row across the Atlantic Ocean alone.
According to Sky News, the 75-year-old sent two distress signals but could not be rescued in time. His support team reported that his rowing boat was found overturned in the North Atlantic. A diver subsequently found the man’s body “lifeless inside the cabin”.
Savin had previously floated across the Atlantic in a barrel but had posted on Facebook that he was having problems with his solar power and strong winds. However, he said that he was not in any danger.
Sadly, this proved not to be the case and he failed in his bid to reach the Caribbean.
