Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note 7 device has proven to be somewhat of a curse for the South Korean manufacturer.
The device was launched in August last, only to be swiftly recalled mere weeks later over worldwide reports of fires caused by overheating. Samsung has now stopped making the device altogether due to ongoing safety concerns.
And to add to the saga, US authorities have now issued an urgent ban prohibiting passengers from carrying it on themselves or inside their luggage. Authorities deem the Galaxy 7 device as a fire hazard, and those found transporting it on board any US-bound flight face hefty fines and possible prosecution.
