In a special forces raid on an Islamic State bomb making facility in Iraq an SAS operator has killed five jihadis using a shot in an assault that lasted only 7 seconds before the Islamists surrendered.
The raid took place on an I.S outpost on the outskirts of Baghdad and two of the terrorists killed were wearing suicide bomb vests at the time.
The 12-man SAS team entered the courtyard of the I.S compound and the lead operator immediately shot and killed three Islamists with his Benelli M4 Super 90 semi-automatic shotgun, at the same time two more Jihadis emerged from the building and were also quickly gunned down.
There were several other armed Islamic State fighters but the sight of their dead comrades, who had essentially been decapitated by the shotgun led to them to immediately surrender.
Despite loosing almost all their territory, pockets of loyalists to the Islamic State continue to pose a threat in Iraq and Syria.
