Don’t get scammed: AIB issues urgent warning after fraudsters “spoof” AIB’s official text number to send fake text messages. “Never click on links in emails or texts from your bank”
AIB have issued a statement saying “Unfortunately our number was intercepted so it looks like these texts are genuine from us, however these messages will always contain a link to click on which we always advise our customers not to click on.
This is a fraud text. AIB will never send any texts or emails with a link to click on” reports Dublin Live.
AIB have published notices on their website and mobile app advising their customers never to click on links.
