Covid-19 is spreading rapidly in the world’s most vaccinated country the Seychelles.
The Indian Ocean island nation has vaccinated more of its population that any other country on Earth and due it’s isolated location has been in a perfect position to quarantine itself but active cases of the Chinese virus has more than doubled in the week to May 7th.
Kate O’Brien, director of the WHO’s department of immunization, vaccines and biologicals, said in a briefing Monday that they were in direct communication with Seychelles and that a detailed assessment was needed looking at factors like strains of the virus and the severity of cases Time reported.
The Seychelles has a population of just under 100,000 people and most of its population has been inoculated with the Sinopharm which the country received as a gift from the originator of the virus, China.
