The Scottish healthcare worker diagnosed with Ebola yesterday was last night flown to a specialist facility in London for treatment.

The nurse, who is understood to have recently returned from Sierra Leone, was admitted to hospital on Monday after feeling unwell. She is the first person to be diagnosed with the deadly disease on British soil.

There are now reports of a second patient being assessed for possible symptoms of Ebola at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
