Scumbags disguised as workers beat elderly man senseless with crowbar in his Dublin home during robbery




A group of robbers brutally beat up an old man in his house, then fled with money and a mobile phone, reports The Mirror.

Gardaí are investigating after a retired businessman in his 70s was beaten with crowbars by a ruthless gang who broke into his home in Monkstown, south Dublin, on Monday morning.

Men dressed as workmen knocked on the door of a man’s home on Carrickbrennan Lawn before entering the home and holding four residents against their will, reports The Mirror

It is reported that one of the passengers was a youth.

The gang later beat up the old man before fleeing with the money and mobile phone.

The man was taken to St. Vincent University Hospital for treatment and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The men, who took a number of items during the break-in, then left the scene on foot towards the village of Monkstown, reports The mIRROR.

Gardaí in Dun Laoghaire are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

Anyone or road users who were in the Carrickbrennan Lawn and Monkstown area between 7.30am and 9.00am on Monday and who may have video/dash cam footage are asked to contact police.
