Authorities in Australia have launched a manhunt for an Irish national accused of targeting vulnerable individuals through scams, reports The Mirror.
Michael Connors, 25, is wanted for a series of offences including passport violations, fraud, and burglary, with allegations of roof repair scams taking place in both New South Wales and Victoria.
He currently has unresolved legal cases in both states. Connors is also believed to be using multiple aliases such as Craig O’Neill, Michael O’Brien, John Cash, Karl George Lynch, and Joseph Blyth Kennedy, reports The Mirror.
According to the Australian Federal Police (AFP), he may also be operating under another unidentified alias. The last confirmed sighting of Connors was in Brisbane, Queensland, on March 15, and authorities are appealing to the public for help locating him.
Connors is described as being between 168cm and 175cm in height, with red hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion. AFP Detective Natalie Scott has asked Queenslanders to report any sightings or information regarding Connors or his current location to police.
She said: “The community plays a crucial role in reporting crime and helping police locate and apprehend offenders – they’re our eyes and ears on the streets. Mr Connors has a history of alleged involvement in serious offences including burglary and roof-repair scams, where he has allegedly preyed on vulnerable community members. Police will allege Mr Connors has engaged in fraudulent activity across two countries and left devastated people in his wake,” reports The Mirror.
Anyone with information about Connors is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” reports The Mirror.
