What appeared to be the body of a woman was spotted floating in the water near the Cliffs of Moher on Saturday.
The alarm was raised and Gardai and the Irish Coast Guard soon mounted a search operation.
Adverse weather conditions in the area prevented the Coast Guard service from launching their crafts, however, and the body disappeared from view soon after. It has not been spotted today, either.
The search operation will resume at first light tomorrow, Monday.
