Progressives and leftists lauded “Sesame Street” writer Mark Saltzman after they interpreted him as suggesting that the two puppets on the beloved children’s show are gay, but now the writer has broken the hearts of fans of political correctness by pouring cold water on their adulation, the New York Post reports.
Bizarrely, progressives around the world fawned over the idea of two puppets on a show for infants being homosexual lovers, after Saltzman used them as an analogy for his own same sex relationship, but he has now poo-pooed the suggestion.
Saltzman suggested the show should have gay characters but that they should be human rather than puppets.
The non-profit organization that runs the show, Sesame Workshop, even had to take to twitter to remind people that Bert and Ernie are puppets created to help children learn to read and do not engage in gay sex as they “do not have a sexual orientation”.
