A man riding an e-scooter has died after colliding with a car in the early hours in County Meath, while a separate incident in County Tipperary claimed the life of a young man in his late teens.
The Meath collision took place at about 1.45am on the Kentstown Road in Navan. The unidentified male e-scooter rider was declared dead at the scene. His body was transferred to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan. The car’s driver, a man in his 60s, and a passenger in his 20s both escaped injury.
Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the scene, so the road remains closed with local diversions operating. Police are asking anyone who was travelling in the area between 1am and 1.45am, particularly those with dash-cam or other camera footage, to come forward.
