Seven people killed after an airshow airplane crashes on a major road in the UK

According to various reports it is understood that seven people have tragically died after a plane crashed into a number of cars on a major road during an airshow in Shoreham in West Sussex, England.

West Sussex police say the aircraft, thought to be a Hawker Hunter jet, plummeted into a row of cars on the A27 after the pilot failed correct the flight path after performing a loop manoeuvre. A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “SECAMB confirm 7 fatalities from the crash at the Shoreham air show today. Thoughts are with the families and loved ones.” Police confirmed that one person was subsequently admitted to hospital in critical condition and another was admitted with minor injuries. It is feared several others died at the scene.

Meanwhile Footage of the horrific crash was posted online short time later which showed the jet carrying out a loop manoeuvre high in the air but failing to pull up in time. The plane then plummeted to the ground, bursting into a ball of flame and smoke.
