Several Italian cities have been put on alert due to extreme temperatures.
A heatwave is currently sweeping across mainland Europe, with temperatures regularly topping 40C in many places.
Cities like Rome, Bologna, Florence, Turin, and Verona are expected to be hit by the heatwave, which weather experts say comes from the African continent.
