Torrential rain and lightning storms knocked out power to about 10,000 homes and businesses across the south and east of Ireland overnight.
An estimated 500 customers in Cork and Dublin remained without power this morning.
Stormy conditions created hazardous conditions due to debris and surface water across many areas.
The outlook is for wet weather to continue throughout the weekend.
