
A 29-yr-old man is accused of killing his father on Thursday night close to Balbriggan, reports RTE.
Emergency personnel discovered Scott George deceased at a residence on Tobersool Lane in north county Dublin.
This morning, Dublin District Court accused his son, Dáire McCormack-George, of Cabra Road, Phibsboro, with his murder.
The Garda Evidence of arrest, charge, and caution was provided by Ultan McElroy of the Balbriggan Garda Station, reports RTE.
According to Garda McElroy, Mr. McCormack-George was charged with murder last night at around 11.30 p.m.
Mr. McCormack-George, a trainee solicitor, did not respond to the accusation, the court heard.
According to defence attorney Danny Nolan, Mr. McCormack-George has been diagnosed with a mental health condition, and he has asked for his client to undergo a psychiatric assessment, reports RTE.
He stated that Mr. McCormack-George was eager to receive this as he hadn’t received his prescription in a few days.
Mr. McCormack-George was given a mental evaluation by Judge William Aylmer, along with any necessary therapy while he is being held, reports RTE.
Additionally, he provided legal help to Mr. McCormack-George.
In order for Mr. McCormack-George to appear in court again via video connection on Friday, December 20, Judge Aylmer remanded him to Cloverhill Prison, reports RTE.
