Police in the UK have arrested a teenage boy on suspicion of attempted murder after he apparently stabbed a teacher in front of his fellow classmates.
The 14-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons reportedly stabbed his teacher a 50 year old man in the stomach with a knife he allegedly smuggled into school. Police say the incident occurred at Dixons Kings Academy secondary school in Bradford, the teacher was quickly taken to nearby hospital where he is thought to be in a stable condition. Reports say the man’s injury is not thought to be life-threatening.
The unidentified teenager was arrested a short time later by police officers in Bradford City Centre. Meanwhile Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police made a brief statement regarding the incident, Supt Atkinson said: “We have just arrested a 14-year-old male in connection with this offence and he is currently in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.”
