A 33-yr-old man was in court today charged with the assault and rape of a woman in Co Carlow last weekend.
The woman was attacked at Pollerton Castle in Carlow town last Sunday morning in the early hours.
The man was before a special sitting of Carlow District Court this morning in the town.
He is due to appear again in court before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday.
