Police in the U.S. state of Texas have launched a major investigation after they discovered two toddlers badly injured chained up in a 34 year old woman’s back garden.
The horrifying story came to light after San Antonio police officers received a call from a nearby neighbour who was concerned after they heard a child crying, upon their arrival the officers were shocked to discover the “disgusting” scene. Reports say officers discovered a three-year-old girl with a broken arm tied to a back door with a dog leash, and an injured two-year-old boy with a chain strapped to his ankle.
Meanwhile another six young children were also found alone inside the premises who have since been taken into foster care. It is believed the injured toddlers are siblings of the woman currently in custody, police say they are “actively trying to find their parents.”
The woman named Porucha Phillips, mother of the six children aged between 10 months and 10 years, and are seriously malnourished, has been charged with two counts of injury to a child by omission.
