Authorities in Moscow, Russia, say a five-year-old girl is currently in intensive care after she was found in a flat so filthy that police had to wear chemical suits whilst carrying out an inspection.
It is understood the little girl named as Lyubov (Love), was found in conditions so bad police were forced to wear chemical suits due to the overpowering smell.
The little girl who was left fending for herself for days on end by her mother was also found to have an ingrown necklace when she was found.
Police investigating the case say the apartment was so filthy that almost every square inch of it was filled with rotting rubbish and cockroaches were found all over.
The little girl who is now under the care of doctors at nearby hospital, is also said to have had no bed or adequate sleeping arrangements and is afraid of water.
It is reported that police were alerted to the incident after a number of neighbours complained about the smell eminating from the apartment where the girl’s well dressed mother lived.
Police say the 47-year-old woman who has been charged with conspiracy to committ murder – was arrested when she returned to the apartment whilst officers conducted a search.
