Shocking: Heartbroken Dublin family traumatised after their son’s grave is dug up by ruthless vandals

A Dublin family have been left traumatised recently after a grave belonging to a beloved family member was disgracefully dug up in Bohernabreena Cemetery in Tallaght.

The family of Michael ‘Bobby’ Maughan are deeply upset and rightly outraged after his grave was dug up in the early hours of Thursday morning.

It is understood three ruthless vandals entered the cemetery at approximately 2am to heartlessly desecrate Mr Maughan’s eternal resting place.

Mr Maughan a father-of-four traicgally died from meningitis in 2008 at the age of 30. The heartless act occurred after Michael’s father Joe issued an emotional appeal for information about the death of Michael’s brother William, whom GardaĆ believe was murdered.

Michael’s brother William ‘Willie’ Maughan and his girlfriend Anna Varslavane have not been seen since April 2015. GardaĆ believe the couple may have been killed because they could have had information about a gangland murder.

An emotional Joe Maughan told reporters he believes the same people are behind the latest incident. A heartbroken Mr Maughan told The Independent.ie: “We know the people that killed William done this…they are cowards.”

“What kind of people are out there? What happened here is the worst of the worst, but that won’t stop me fighting for justice for my son. “Me and my family will go to our graves, but we will get justice in the end. “The Gardai will catch the people who done this.”

Meanwhile the Gardai have said they are currently investigating the appaling incident.
