The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has declared that a staggering 80% of child car seats are incorrectly fitted and could prove dangerous in a crash.
They have been running a campaign throughout the country to get people to check their child car seats are correctly fitted but inspectors for the authority still claim that 80% need a major adjustment and that they could be dangerous if not corrected.
Some 25,000 child seats have been tested since 2013 with a total of 2% deemed completely unsafe and until for purpose.
It’s advised that people have their seat properly fitted at time of purchase or by a mechanic or seat fitter.
