The health watchdog, HIQA, has published a report highlighting a series of issues at Bishopscourt Residential Care centre, in Liskillea, Waterfall, Cork, following an inspection.
In particular, the report highlights serious issues with the management of the medications, referring to ‘missing’ medication, extra meds in pouches, torn pouches, and other deficiencies.
It is understood that these incidents have been ongoing for a number of years, and though some controls had been put in place, the situation is not entirely satisfactory.
Incidents of peer to peer abuse at the facility have also been identified, adding that these incidents were not always reported ‘in a timely fashion.’
