Shoplifter who was running out of Wexford supermarket ran straight into passing gardaí

Karma was evident in action on Saturday night when a man who allegedly stole several items from a supermarket in Wexford immediately fled the building to greet the guards in a passing police car, reports Independent.

The man left The Faith in Londis around 7pm on Saturday night. Put away cigarettes and other items. As soon as he left the store, he ran straight to the guard who quickly arrested him and retrieved the items.

But the arrest was not entirely accidental. Earlier that evening, Gardaí in Wexford received complaints about a person being intoxicated and disturbing the peace in the area. A police car was dispatched from a nearby station and quickly found its man.

“He had entered the shop and taken a number of items. He came out of the shop and walked right out to gardaí. They would’ve known him,” a garda spokesman said, reports Independent.

He was arrested and taken to Wexford Police Station before being released on bail pending legal proceedings, reports Independent.
