Gardai in south Dublin have begun an investigation after an elderly man was beaten in a sickening attack on Saturday night.
According to Dublin Live, the elderly man aged in his 70s was subjected to the vicious assault which left him with bad bruising on his face.
It is understood the sickening incident occurred on the Scholarstown Road, Dublin 16 at approximatley 11.30pm on Saturday evening whilst the man was walking to a bus stop.
Gardai say the man required hospital treatment after he sustained bruising to his face.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
