Simply the best – Social media users both cried and laughed at Brendan Grace documentary

There’s emotional and then there’s Monday night’s Brendan Grace documentary. What a truly lovely, fun and generous man he was.

Brendan got to say goodbye to all his fans on his terms via a video link from his hospital bed. He was a gentleman and he had the respect of the people of Ireland.

‘Brendan Grace – thanks for the memories’, was in one way a very hard watch, while in another way it was a truly beautiful programme.

Brendan was determined to open the show from his hospital bed where he simply said into the camera that he mightn’t look the best but he wanted to say it himself, “thanks for the memories”.

The beautiful message started the entire programme which followed Brendan and the ‘Forget-me-nots’ choir.

It may well have been a tough watch for all of us who watched it but it was nothing short of a fitting tribute to a truly hilarious, generous, intelligent and gentle man.

RIP Brendan.
