Sinead O’Connor says she reached out to public to stay alive – she was in fear of dying

Sinead O’Connor was interviewed on last night’s Tommy Tiernan Show.

Sinead said that people who are suicidal are going through something in their life that makes that feel that way.

Speaking about her recent health issues, she said that had she not done the reaching out publicly that she did, she wouldn’t be sitting there tonight. She said that she doesn’t have lots of friends.

Sinead said that was a bit lonely and acrophobia and that she doesn’t go out very much. She isolated herself and couldn’t nurture friendships.

She said that some people wanted to be friends with her for the wrong reasons. She said that it was rare that people wanted to be friends with her just because they like her rather than people looking for job etc.
