Just when you thought that Australia was finally managing to see some light at the end of the tunnel, a State of emergency has been declared in Canberra – that nation’s capital over fears of severe bushfires.
Fire fighters worked through the night in an effort to keep massive fires from catching in the residential area of Canberra, but rural communities have been left to somewhat fend for themselves with many evacuating.
Thankfully over the weekend, no houses have been burned, but fire fighters have been forced to get as many volunteers as possible to help fight the raging fires.
