Sinn Fein has put forward a proposal to introduce medical cards for all cancer patients. Currently, medical cards are granted to cancer patients under the age of 18.
According to Louise O’Reilly, the party’s spokesperson for health issues, such scheme would cost around €40million per year.
The proposal is part of Sinn Fein’s alternative budget.
