Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has said that she is willing to talk to everyone in regards to forming a new Government but has already made interest towards forming a left wing government.
It’s understood that McDonald has contacted the Green Party, Labour and a number of independent candidates about a possible coalition government.
McDonald who said she would prefer a Government without Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil said that she is willing to enter negotiations with either party as it is what grown ups do.
McDonald has said since the election that she “may well be the next Taoiseach” following the general election.
She made the comments during walkabout on Dublin’s Moore Street on Monday afternoon with her party finishing on 37 seats, just one behind Fianna Fail and two ahead of Fine Gael.
