Members belonging to the country’s largest trade union SIPTU have called on the Government to provide further funding to the ambulance service.
The union say the states ambulance service desperately needs at least €50m worth of investment to bring it up to a acceptable standard. The news comes after the union along with the ambulance service strongly called on the Minister for Health Leo Varadkar to publish the HSE national ambulance review.
It is thought the Ambulance service’s SIPTU members will hold a number of meetings over the coming month to discuss whether or not to take strike action.
