Six cyclists were hurt, two of them seriously, after one of the group collided with a car, causing the rest to fall off their bikes.
The incident happened this morning, on the R458 road near the village of Firgrove in the Shannon area of Co. Clare.
It is understood that two of the cyclists had to be rushed to hospital.
