Forensic tests carried out on a skull found by workmen in a field in Swords Co Dublin yesterday afternoon, have confirmed that the skull is that of a human being
Gardai say that the state pathologist conducted a preliminary examination of the skull earlier today and found it is that of a male. The skull has since been removed to the city morgue where it is understood that forensic anthropologists and detectives are now conducting a search through missing persons files in the hope of identifying the deceased.
Gardai also say the scene in Swords remains cordened off as a forensic examinations continue to take place.
