Sleet and snow are expected to develop this afternoon and evening over large swathes of Munster and Connacht. These outbreaks will extend further east by nightfall, as temperatures are set to drop to around minus two.
Deep frost and ice covering will be widespread by dawn, creating hazardous conditions on paths and roads.
