The dire state of the Irish health system is once again laid bare in stark figures, as it has been revealed that while there has been a slight reduction in hospital waiting lists, as many as 568k people are still waiting for treatment.
Hospital overcrowding is also at an all-time high, and expected to get worse over the coming winter.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Simon Harris is nowhere to be seen.
