Special Needs Assistants represented by the IMPACT trade union have today voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.
The row centers around the drastic reduction in working hours and the fragmentation of SNA posts across the country. Some cases have been reported of SNAs working a reduced roster of ten hours spread over a full working week. They say it has become impossible for them to make a living, and children are also suffering as a result.
The ballot was passed with 95% in favour of industrial action.
