According to forecasters this evening the vast majority of Ireland will wake up to snowy conditions on Friday as Met Eireann have issued a nationwide weather alert this evening.
The updated warning comes after the national forecaster issued a warning to seven counties on Thursday that warned of heavy snowfall and icy conditions overnight.
The Status Orange warning which issued for counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, has now been extended to include additional counties as up to 3 inches of snow 9s expected on the North and North West.
Met Eireann also say they have issued a Status Yellow warning for an additional 18 counties that will remain in place until Friday evening.
Meanwhile Motorists are being advised to take extra caution whilst travelling in the morning as forecasters say there will be plenty of ice and black ice in most places.
