As if the coronavirus wasn’t enough for the country to contend with, Met Eireann has issued a stern warning for motorists to be vigilant as snow and sleet is forecast.
The national forecaster has warned of a huge drop in temperatures on Wednesday, with wintry showers of sleet and snow likely.
Wednesday night is forecast to be rather chilly as the thermometer drops to -1C or -2C.
Met Eireann says that cold nights will remain for the remainder of the week.
