Friday evening and all day Saturday was absolutely bitterly cold with temperatures hovering around 2 and 3c.
Now it appears as though things are about to get even colder – with the first snowfalls of winter 2019 coming this week!
Today will be relatively dry and sunny, with bright but cool conditions predominant.
According to Met Eireann, tomorrow Monday will be wet and sub-zero temperatures might lead to sleet and light snow falls on Monday night.
The north and west of the country will see the worst of the weather on Monday, with heavy showers that might turn wintry on high ground.
